Police Online Reporting

The purpose of this site is to allow citizens or any victim of crime that occurred within the Township limits, to file police reports online. After completing the necessary information, you will be able to print the report for your records. If the incident you wish to report is an emergency, a crime in progress, or involves any type of significant injury please do not submit the report online and dial 9-1-1. The loss or theft of prescription medication, narcotic, or other controlled substance CANNOT be reported online. For any non-emergent incident that requires a police officer to respond, dial your Police Department’s non-emergency number.

Special Needs Registry

The Stratford Police Department in partnership with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, would like to get the word out to our residents regarding our new & updated Special Needs Registry. The registry is a direct-feed to the Stratford Police Department. Registration information will be made available to our police officers and shared with Fire and EMS officials in the event there is an emergency involving the registrant, or their place of residence.

E-Bikes & Scooters

Especially this time of year, the Stratford Police Department receives inquiries regarding the legalities of various electric scooters and electric bicycles. As described in the below law, E-Bikes and E-Scooters maybe operated within the Borough of Stratford. All riders of E-Bikes or E-Scooters must abide by all rules of the roadway. Riders under the age of 17 years of age must wear a securely fitting helmet while operating an E-Bike or E-Scooters.

Emergency Services Message

House & Building Numbers

Please ensure your house number is visible from the street. This will assist emergency personnel when responding to assist our residents during times of emergencies. We have observed many homes in town that do not have house numbers properly affixed. Please pass this important information on to your neighbors as well.

The Stratford Police Department is accepting resumes for the position of Police Officer.

Minimum Qualifications, Requirements:
➢ 18 years of age
➢ High School Diploma or equivalent, College preferred
➢ Successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation
including drug testing, physical and psychological exam
➢ Successfully complete a pre-academy physical fitness test
➢ Successfully complete a 6 month Basic Course for Police Officers
or Special Law Enforcement Training Course and Field Training Program

The Stratford Police Department is seeking regular and substitute school crossing guards for 2023 – 2024 school year.

Police Officer Body Cams

Stratford PD BWC Policy

PURPOSE: To establish a directive that is in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office for the proper and lawful operation of the body worn audio/video camera systems worn by Stratford Police Department personnel, and to define the tagging, access regulations, media storage, public disclosure, and retention system for the events recorded by the devices.

POLICY: Body Worn Cameras (hereinafter BWC) will be deployed to Stratford Police Department personnel in a manner consistent with the provisions outlined in this written directive and under the authority of the Chief of Police.

The Stratford Police Department to begin using body worn cameras (BWC’S)

Using Grant funds from the State of New Jersey, supplemented by the Borough of Stratford, the Stratford Police Department will begin implementing the use of Axon Body Worn Cameras (BWC’s) around June 2021. The police department and borough officials believe that the use of body worn cameras will provide an additional level of safety and security for the public and to our police officers.
